Hydrophobizer

Hydrophobizer

There are options of 20, 10, and 5 liters.

Hydrophobizers are aqueous (or organic) solutions of silicone components. The water-repellent agent, thanks to water or another “carrier,” penetrates the material being coated. There it forms a waterproof, permeable layer that protects the structure from moisture.

Field of application:

During any construction, the degree of material porosity must be taken into account. Pores allow atmospheric moisture to pass through, which reacts with salts, depositing them in the outer layer of the façade. The moisture itself, trapped in the pores, under the influence of temperature fluctuations, destroys the structure of the wall material, altering its thermal characteristics. This leads to a significant reduction in the building's overall lifespan. The logical solution in this case is the use of water-repellent agents. These are substances with water-repellent properties. Coatings with a water-repellent agent are not affected by rain and snow.

Undoubtedly, the best hydrophobizers are organosilicon. Their unique protective properties are enhanced by excellent resistance to temperatures and chemical reagents. One of the main advantages of silicone hydrophobizers is their long service life.

Compared to standard waterproof coatings, the silicone Termion hydrophobizer:

Termion hydrophobizer is used when it is necessary to provide maximum moisture protection for materials such as concrete and its variants, stone, and slate. This treatment protects surfaces from wetting by rain and snow, thereby preventing deterioration, mold formation, and the appearance of fungi.

Exceptional hydrophobic impregnation properties allow coatings to be applied to the surfaces of floors, warehouses, garages, and sidewalks. The hydrophobizer significantly increases the material's strength, preventing the formation of cracks and dust.

The use of a hydrophobic agent for impregnating concrete structures is particularly relevant. This coating gives the material resistance to corrosion and severe frost, preventing dusting. The likelihood of moisture penetrating the concrete structure becomes virtually zero, which is one of the main criteria for the long service life of structures.

Every porous building material requires thorough protection. Hydrophobizers are necessary for plastered surfaces, brick, gypsum, concrete, and natural stone.

In addition to protecting against moisture penetration, the Termion hydrophobizer provides materials with increased hardness and strength. With a significant boost in water-repellent properties, resistance to dust and dirt also increases.

The greatest impact of moisture is on building facades, the finish of the foundation and sidewalks. Once moisture penetrates the material structure, the front of the facade cracks, the walls' thermal insulation properties are significantly reduced, leading to the appearance of mold and fungal growth.

The layer created by the Termion hydrophobizer is about 20 mm thick and prevents any moisture from penetrating. Microscopic particles thoroughly coat the material's pores, forming the finest waterproof film. Since the film itself is orders of magnitude thinner than the thickness of the capillaries (pores) in cross-section, the material's vapor permeability remains unchanged. The wall stays “breathable,” which is one of the main requirements for a healthy microclimate in the house.

Instructions for applying the “TERMION hydrophobizer” impregnation to the surface of various structures:

  1. Environment temperature requirements: surface treatment should be carried out at a temperature of -20°C to +40°C.
  2. Material requirements: Before impregnation, the surface is cleaned of dirt, paint, and other coatings.

  3. The humidity level must not exceed 30%. After treatment, the surface must be protected from mechanical impacts.

  4. Application procedure: TERMION hydrophobizer is applied with an air sprayer or by hand after mixing the material. When using a spray gun, hold it 25–35 cm from the material surface. Manual application ensures maximum saturation of the surface with the mixture.
